Cousins

In less than 24 hours, Kristyn and her babies will plant their feet back on American soil! We are all at the mercy of planes, trains, automobiles and Customs, but with any luck and goddess willing, they'll make it here safe and sound without incident.
As anxious as I am for their arrival, I know one little person who just might rival me in excitement: June. She has been missing her cousins so much, talking endlessly about what they'll do together, marking off the days on the calendar Brynna made for this purpose.

These sweet cousins have had such a bond, Rosie and June less than a year apart, and Angelo at 2 years older serving as "big brother" to them both. We had all hoped that they'd grow up locally together, just two doors down on the same block, but that wasn't meant to be..for now. We haven't all been together for nearly a year, and I'm not going to lie, it's been brutal at times. Knowing that decisions are the "right" ones (for now) doesn't help ease the pain of missing, the void that the far-away family member leaves behind.
So, we will make the best of these visits, reveling in those first big hugs, the joy of being able to not only see & hear but also touch each other, no longer miles and oceans apart. It will be a loud, wild, over-the-top couple of days/weeks until everyone settles in for their long visit, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am literally counting down the hours.

Family is everything.
